And so it begins...

It's been a year since I posted...and I assure you that was completely due to laziness and not a lack of things to write about...so here's a roundup as close as I can remember...first...5AM played a kickass final show...it wasn't about winning for us (yeah I know...that's loser talk...hahaha)...but surprise surprise...3/4 of the members are still in uni...hmm...beatles reunion talk maybe? Not if my MEng project has anything to say about it...

Lotsa friends have graduated...to all those who've left...all the best in your future work!! You can do it!!! To those who are left...all the best too! Gonna be a hard year ahead...spent a good three months away from home and well...away from all those I care about...was pretty tough...but at least I'm home! Had a nice game of bowling thrown in there somewhere too...hehehe...so, in summary:

The only main yearning i have is for the friend's i made during those 3 mths,

(Bullcrap ar? believe your ears ladies and gentlemen...i miss those 3 mths)

the hot and never kind super duper conflicts I was faced with,

(full of raging passionate goodness u may say, and yes...i miss that too...haha)

a great raging electric amplifier-filled trip as the (bad) bassist for 5am, learning

'you ever always really walk alone' when liverpool lose...and now

i'll live on vitamins everyday until i'm sure i wont get h1n1 or something.

- So until superman's underwear- is on the inside:

BYEEE!!!

See how they run, see how they run...

Now...in light of recent events, I am forced to abandon my 1 post per 3 months quota to jot down some really interesting happenings...Apparently, for the first time in God-knows how long...Liverpool are entering the new year with their highest points tally yet! Of course this could mean absolutely nothing coz apparently they led once before and finished 4th...hahaha...well...this newest all time high was of course achieved by some icing on the cake in the form of the 5-1 thrashing of newcastle...inspired by none other than ur very own captain marvel himself, steven gerrard MBE...
Now...of course this means nothing yet, just a glimmer of hope all liverpool fans have been waiting for...the 19th premier league title perhaps...but until then...with liverpool displaying the consistency of mushed carrots, liverpool fans are entitled to think of this as nothing more than a fluke...oh yea...chelsea are now 3 points behind...but stay ur celebrations liverpool fans...(puts away party hats)...we've all been there before havent we? but for now...see how everyone runs in fear as the red machine goes marching on...

Next...when asked; would I leave my own band of ragtag rookies (urs truly included)...who's only agenda until this day has been to practice one song to perform it before our drummer leaves after graduation?...I answered no...hahaha...coz I've always had this dream of performing on stage with a bunch my closest buddies...been a dream since God knows when...and continues to be a dream...hahaha...(note to self...get together with them to practice!...ONE WILD NIGHT!! woohoo) hahaha...

Circumstances this semester haven't been too forgiving in terms of practice hours put in (surprisingly more than anyone would understand it seems...hahaha)...but many thanks to milor kong for accepting moi into 5 am...hahaha...gonna use that experience as something to bring into CONDUCTION BAND!! hahahaha...really hope it works out...here's the first performance of the new 5 am...with milor on drums, tun and eric on guitars and me on bass...i'm the big guy who's blocking everyone by standing in front...hahaha...yes...i sing out of tune...thanks for reminding...lol...congrats milor for receiving an award for getting distinction in ur drums exam!! and thanks a bundle to ri li and mus for coming...really happy u guys could make it (if u were that excited for someone elses performance, mus...imagine how u'll feel when we make it!!)...thanks to muhsin also for pretending that he wanted to come...hahaha (bashes muhsin up)...

Till next time!! Exams are coming up...and I've still got time to write nonsense in my blogs? Hahaha...I must either really nuts or really stupid...lol..For my sake...I hope it's not the latter...Dahla coursework also damn slow...AARGH...exams suck!! Lolz...Ciaoz!

Wow...it's been that long huh?

AWESOME!! I'm back!! Oh gosh I missed blogging. I mean...where else could you write about your entire life's troubles where you were certain no one else was gonna read it except the oh-so-private World Wide Web? Nowhere else I'm sure. Well...I guess that makes blogs the perfect place to talk trash about someone. Or not. Anyways...back to more recent happenings...funny things have been happening in my life recently...firstly, well...I'm much too private of a guy to list the first reason, secondly: people's reactions to the first reason, third: Liverpool's leading the Premier League, although I'm sure by the time I'm done with this they won't be any more...and finally...I forget.

I'm a guy...and well, fashion trends aren't my thing...but has anyone noticed the speed at which a trend get's picked up so someone gets to fit in? I dunno...the new Prada everyone's gotta have, the sexy new Jimmy Choos, a ridiculously expensive striker to complement your earlier expensive buy who's out injured (read: Robbie Keane...seen here doing his why haven't I scored yet dance). Well...no matter what it is...trends do bring out the worst in people don't they? They'll stop at nothing to get what they want...and when they don't get it...they'll pout and say they didn't want it anyway (sounds like a lot of ppl i know tho...)...(again, read Liverpool and the Garreth Barry saga...if you haven't heard of it, your probably too engrossed in those Jimmy Choo's)...But c'est la vie I guess (i think that means that's life or some crap in some language which i just toss in here and there to sound sophisticated)...the fashion trend seeker in all of us appeals to a greater sense of social belonging...the need to feel wanted...and well...like Robbie Keane once said...who cares if I can't actually score...the feeling of belonging to my boyhood favourite club is a natural high you can't get from drugs which i can readily procure with my ridiculous salary but i don't procure because drugs are bad (ok...maybe in not so many words)...That aside, Liverpool topping the Premier League is rarer than a solar eclipse and doesn't last as long...so Liverpool fans (me included)...cross your fingers...and may the force be with us. GG...social belonging shouldn't force you to change who you are...but if you have to...try not to force that change onto others too...

Now...how many of you out there are Transformers fans? I can honestly say not me...but I was hooked once I watched the movie...it came out on HBO (sneaky advertising) recently and I grabbed any chance I could to watch it...that helicopter dude Blackout is super awesome!! And so's Optimus and Megatron...WOOHOO!! AUTOBOTS!! ROLL OUT!!! Here's a picture for those of you who don't know what Optimus looks like (I'd advise you to stop living under that rock)..Now tell me that ain't cool.

Oh yeah...recently the Masters Series Badminton Finals were held in Malaysia...and barring the fact that China did not come for it, Malaysians held out pretty well, winning the singles (mens), doubles (mens) and women's singles...I'm sure the lack of depth in the Malaysian squad can already clue you in as to who were the winners...Lee...oops...Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Koo Kien Keat and that other guy who no one really knows much about and Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui...(wow...I remembered their names!!)...A great victory for Malaysia! One we haven't achieved before...now let's hope we can do it when the Chinese are in town...might be a bit more difficult then...almost like trying to climb the Great Wall with a pair of scissors.

Alright then...I'll be signing off for another year or so until I get the mood to write again...till then!! Toodles!!

Not so regular updates...hehehe

Well...in the month or two since the thomas cup...a whole lotta stuff has happened...firstly...spain won euro 2008 with torres scoring the winning goal against germany...(woohoo!! oh wait...was it germany? The way torres weaved through the defense i doubt it was a strong team...hehehe)...What? I'm a biased Liverpool fan? What makes u say that? (I also think Aragones was nuts for leaving out Alonso)...Ok fine...I'm slightly biased...So sue me.

Also...Nadal became the first Spaniard in oh-so-many years to win Wimbledon!! Woohoo!! ok...maybe i was more excited by the fact that this certain senor from Mallorca has been the only one in recent times to hold a winning record against the all conquering Messr. Federer...I see the headlines now for the upcoming Olympics...Senor Nadal Fed-Exes Roger to world number 2 spot...ok...I've never had a flair for writing headlines...but this rivalry between them is somewhat like watching the rivalries of old (Sampras - Agassi, McEnroe and himself...hahaha)...lookin forward to seeing wat happens next...

A ton of stuff's been happenin with my personal life too...reasons to be upset, happy, confused and emo at times...got an internship at uni...started in June...thanks to all the ppl who stopped by during the first couple of weeks to keep me company..:)...u know who u are...hahaha...only hope I can return the favour later...Also managed to get hold of this REALLY FUNNY web series...Red Vs Blue...seriously damn funny but if ur younger than 14 yrs or watever dun watch it...there's more profanity in there than...well...something with a lot of profanity...here's the first video of the series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BAM9fgV-ts...watch at ur own risk!! Ok...my first blog post in ages is DONE!! *rousing applause*

Thomas Cup Folly...

well...2nd year is finally over...and i guess i'm coming to terms with the fact that me and my buddies will soon go our separate ways after graduation...sigh...it's disheartening to think about it...but that's still a year away...so turn that frown upside down sudheer!!
ok...the best part of this year's summer break is that so many sporting events fall within this time!! the thomas cup's goin on right now...the champs league finals are next week...then we have euro 2008 and the beijing olympics!! wow...talk about spoilt for choice...
exams took a big chunk out of my tv time...and i was hoping to make up for that by sitting down and watching the msia vs china thomas cup semis...ok fine...i was planning on going to bed (not the first time i've done that in the afternoons)...but somehow my stubby fingers pushed the wrong buttons on the remote and i ended up watchin the thomas cup.

now...malaysia's hopes of reaching the finals were slim of course...as everyone betted against us toppling the chinese juggernaut...but boy did we give them a run for their money...lee chong wei was up first against lin dan...his very own bogey player...let's say i wasn't too confident this tie would start off in favour of the msians...

but as they say in football...the ball is round...and lee chong wei certainly proved that impossible is nothing (sneaky advertising...hehe) by taking the fight to the chinese world number 1 and humbling him in straight sets...that was an OMFG moment as you could say i finally had banished all thoughts of an afternoon nap and sat glued to the tv...

next up was our first doubles pairing of koo kien keat and tan boon heong...now these guys were the rage when they first barged onto the international badminton scene last year...sweeping the asian games gold medal and various other super series events...but as they say...if u don't crumble and self destruct after reaching extraordinary heights...ur not a msian badminton player...true to form, our doubles surrendered tamely to the chinese pair of fu haifeng and cai yun...a pair our pair had a 3-1 record against (3-2 now...sigh). kudos to rexy mainaky for bringing them to the highest level...but there's only so much you can do...
wong choon hann and hafiz hashim were shadows of their former world beating selves...and if you were counting on them to deliver anything...boy did u put ur money on the wrong horse...i din catch the choon hann match cause frankly i was pretty disappointed by the doubles performance...hafiz hashim i'd say is pretty much better than all the other msian players cause he doesn't mercurially become good then suck then start winning again...he's consistent in being bad...well..if ur opponent's third ranked singles player is the world number 4...i think u have a right to feel hard done by...haha

a doubles victory was scored by latif-tahari..who were actually much better than the first doubles pair...hats off to msia for a brave fight...but sadly, chants of MALYSIA BOLEH were soon replaced by the sad reality that MALAYSIA BALIK...again...at the same stage we fell...sigh...msia beaten by china...3-2

Teardrops on my Geetha

Ok...it's been a week since i turned 21...and well..it's been a hectic introduction to adulthood to say the least...nice surprises were in store tho...thanks bro and cousins for organizing my 'surprise' bday party (they tried to hide it from me by speakin in tamil...man...my tamil isnt THAT bad!! gimme a break!!)...thanks to kimiko and yee voon for the extremely cute soap dish!! (haha...i'll be damned if i'm gonna use it).....then came the projects and stuff...luckily had no lab report due last week...but still had to finish that damned business plan...and now...have to finish that website crap...haih...c'est la vie...
Found this excellent song by Taylor Swift...teardrops on my guitar...damn sad wey...i wouldnt say it reflects my life 100%...but it's almost there...hahaha...here's the lyrics with a few modifications (he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar sounded just a bit too gay...even for me)...i included the chords...so any buddin singers can sing along...just like me and me Geetha...hahaha...no ladies...thats what i call my guitar (get it? guitar ---> Geetha)...hahaha...i crack myself up

Prue looks at me, I fake a smile so she won’t see

And he’s got everything that I have to live without

That I can’t even see, anyone when she’s with me

I wonder if she knows she’s all I think about at night

She’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar

The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star

She’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do

The kind of flawless I wish I could be

come on ref!! floor to head...not head to floor!

week 4 of uni...week god knows wat of my life...firstly...forgive any grammatical errors cause i've strangely grown fond of typing in the dark..if u know me personally...u'd prob be convinced i dress in the dark too...footie on monday introduced a new complication to my otherwise ridiculously dense life...the prospect of serious injury. ive always known that footballers are prone to injury...and those are fully fit professionals we're talkin about...not half baked wannabes like urs truly.
u see...i've dealt with the usual strains and pulls...hamstrings, ankle, shin splints...etc. but then...taking a huge tumble on the futsal court on monday and slamming my head on the floor without much restraint was an eye opener so to speak (and an ear opener too...din know my head could make that noise..haha). according to a friend who was there at the time...the slam was so hard he thought i'd blacked out from a concussion...well..i do tend to lay on the floor for some time every time i fall down...more from laziness than actual injury so sorry basit for the scare...haha
thankfully the old cranium's ok (mom always said i was hard headed)...so i guess id better be careful the next time i decide to hit the floor (literally)...
